I have a Dell D620 with a Broadcom Wireless Mini Card. I guess I had to venture out on the bleeding edge and install this latest version of Ubuntu. When I finished I found that my wireless was not working. I found any number of secret incantations on the web that purported to fix it. Here's how I did solve it.
I hooked via ethernet and performed all the updates. I then opened Synaptic Package Manager and did a search on Broadcom. I found a package called bcmwl-kernel-source. I installed this pacaked and viola! my wireless works.
Woohoo!

Up to my neck
Wow I have been up to my neck in end of year deadlines and projects. Unfortunately my postings have lagged. When the new year comes I will renew writing more, but, I have even more deadlines coming up.
